We are pleased to introduce the blog, The Artful Lifestyle which is also part of Ann's business website, at Huff Harrington. The blog has been written primarily by Ann's art gallery and store in Atlanta but we feature many anecdotes about life in Provence, including travel tips, new restaurants and the adventures of trying to find and buy an apartment in Paris. For a sneak preview of its contents, see some of the posts described below.

Hiccups at Air France
"It all started several years ago when I was traveling back
from Paris to Atlanta. My plane from Marseille was delayed, so I arrived at the
gate, panting, disheveled, and utterly panicked that I would miss my flight. I
remember the ticket agent putting my boarding pass through the scanner and the
machine uttering a little hiccup, as the attendant said (what would become some
of my favorite words), "Un moment, s'il vous plait." She then apologized for
the delay and explained that I had been upgraded to Business class, and so they
had to reissue a ticket ..."Read more.
Hunting for a Paris Apartment - Part I
"I haven't always loved Paris. In fact, when I was growing up
in Geneva, Switzerland, where everything was pristine and perfect and
remarkably clean, I used to think we were slumming it a little each time we
drove in to France..."
This is the beginning of a series of blogs on finding an
apartment in Paris, an adventure which has taken me back to my favorite city
dozens of times in the last few years, with more adventures in love and heart
break than I could ever imagine. Despite all the ups and downs and all arounds,
I think this one may just have a happy ending.
"Thirteen years ago, during her medical checkup for her
fourth birthday, my daughter's best friend was diagnosed with Juvenile
Diabetes. As the friendship matured and we became closer to this sweet girl and
her wonderful parents, we learned much more about the life threatening and
disruptive effects of this disease and determined that we should try to do
something, in our own small way, to help find a cure ..."
This series talks about how an idea to help raise money to
fight the causes of Juvenile Diabetes has evolved into trips to Provence. And this has provided me the
chance to share my passion and love with extraordinary people for the benefit
of an important cause, and the chance to build another business venture that
keeps our gallery growing, happy and healthy. It's a win/win!
Heaven on Earth: Le Train Bleu
who has ever hopped on a train at the Gare de Lyon in Paris has probably been
aware of Le Train Bleu, the venerable restaurant that sits up high over the
quays and is decorated to the max in sumptuous 19th century rococo perfection.
When we take the train, it's usually rush rush rush to a quick and
fast connection, with no time to enjoy a croissant, let alone a fabulous four
course meal. We've peaked into the restaurant, from time to time, and it has
certainly piqued our interest. But the idea of actually sitting down to a
sumptuous, leisurely meal there has been an elusive dream ... until now."
